Welcome to the Shar Pei Club of Great Britain

The SPCGB is the FIRST U.K. Kennel Club recognised Shar-Pei Breed Club. The Club was founded in 1983 by a group of devoted Shar-Pei fanciers with the intent of promoting and protecting the interests of the breed. Our aims remain the same to this day and both the breed and the SPCGB have gone from strength to strength.
Thank you for taking the time to visit our website. Inside this website you will find information on many aspects of the breed, including breed specific health issues, up to date show information, our club's activities and how to join us.

"NEWS FROM OUR PATRON Dr LINDA TINTLE."

Dear Friends in the Shar-Pei Community:

Our manuscript further describing the spectrum of persistent inflammatory signs that affect Shar-Pei dogs has been published.  This research was conducted on samples obtained at the 2010 CSPCA National Specialty and from many samples obtained in Europe as well.

The article appears at this link:  http://dx.plos.org/10.1371/journal.pone.0075242

If you have specific questions about the meaning of the paper after reviewing the press release and article, please email me.  I will try to create a FAQs resource and distribute the answers to some commonly visited social media pages, CSPCA lists and websites dedicated to Shar-Pei issues for re-distribution.

Thank you for all your support.  ~ Linda Tintle DVM

** Shar Pei Club of Great Britain Mission Statment **

As custodians of the breed, the foremost aim of the Shar Pei Club of Great Britain is to “promote the health and well-being of the breed” and with that in mind, breeders must strive to breed healthy puppies to live healthy lives and bring life-long pleasure to their owners. The Club recommends that its’ members who breed, participate in the Club’s "Breeder of Merit" Scheme and to make use of any future health schemes and genetic tests which may become available in the future in order to eradicate known health problems.
The Shar Pei Club of Great Britain supports the Chinese Shar Pei Charitable Trust, which was founded and established to seek funding to address all the genetic health issues of the Shar Pei
