ABOUT US
The SPCGB is the first UK Kennel Club recognised Shar-Pei Breed Club. The Club was founded in 1983 by a group of devoted Shar-Pei fanciers with the intent of promoting and protecting the interests of the breed. Our aims remain the same to this day and both the breed and the SPCGB have gone from strength to strength.
OUR MISSION
As custodians of the breed, the foremost aim of the Shar Pei Club of Great Britain is to promote the health and well-being of the breed and with that in mind, breeders must strive to breed healthy puppies to live healthy lives and bring life-long pleasure to their owners. The Club requires that its members who breed, make use of our health scheme and recommended genetic tests in order to eradicate known health problems
WHAT WE DO
The Shar Pei Club of Great Britain supports research into Shar Pei specific diseases and works with the Kennel Club, the Animal Health Trust and with the Chinese Shar Pei Charitable Trust, which was founded and established to seek funding to address all the genetic health issues of the Shar Pei.
